"But Flash! We've Only Got 14 Hours to Save The Earth!"

There you have it. Of all the phrases to stumble over at PMQ's, Gordon Brown managed it when trying to say "We not only saved the world..... [Hon members: Uprorious laughter] We not only saved the world's banking system..."

Sometimes, those Parliamentary sketches just write themselves!

UPDATE: Via Guido, here's someone else's grab of events from YouTube:
UPDATE 2: An interview with the German Finance Minister, Peer Steinbrück, in Newsweek. Explosive stuff...

Maybe Brown's gaffe is a Freudian slip (he really believes he's saved the world) as the lyrics from Bon Jovi's "Save the World" highlight:

I got to confess
Sometimes I’m a mess
And sometimes I step out of line
Like this old tattoo
I ain’t shiny or new
With you by my side nothing matters

Well done for not choosing Livin' on a Prayer :-)

Certainly, right now it's a case of Wild Is the Wind, and it's Bad Medicine we're getting right enough. Just a shame we'll be living with the consequences for the Next 100 Years...

Any more? :-)
